Tornado Watch

Article was added on Friday, February 21, 2014

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch, effective until 4 PM EST, for portions of central North Carolina, eastern South Carolina and adjacent coastal waters.

Several tornadoes are possible. In addition, several damaging... wind gusts are likely, with a few significant gusts up to 75 mph possible. A few large hail events with hail up to 1" in diameter are also possible.

Remember, a Tornado Watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and monitor local NWS forecast office products and media for additional information for your specific area or for any warnings that may be issued. Santee Electric Co-op is aware of the predicted service weather for our area today. We ask our members to also be aware and take proper precautions.
