Florence County Disabilities Foundation is having their 2018 Celebrity BBQ Benefit Tuesday, February 27 at Roger's BBQ in Florence and The Schoolhouse BBQ in Scranton from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and at First Baptist Church in Johnsonville catered by The Schoolhouse BBQ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $8 each and you can eat in, use the drive thru or have 10 or more plates delivered for free.
The foundation supports more than 1,200 consumers throughout Florence County with intellectual disabilities, autism and head or spinal cord injuries. Funds raised help support these individuals by providing medical supplies, dental services, vision services, respite, basic housing needs, bath/shower chairs and by making homes wheelchair accessible. The money also supports opportunities for recreational activities such as Miracle League and various field trips, just to name a few.
All sponsors receive recognition in print media, printed recognition displayed in the BBQ locations, recognition in all promotional ads, TV spots, etc. prior to BBQ. For $2,500, Presenting Sponsors also receive 50 free BBQ tickets for the location of their choice. For $1,000, Patron Sponsor also receive 20 free BBQ tickets for the location of their choice. For $500, Associate Sponsor also receive 10 free BBQ tickets for the location of their choice. For $250 Contributing Sponsor also receive 5 free BBQ tickets for the location of their choice.
But sponsorship is not required to participate. Anyone who would like a delicious plate of BBQ served by celebrity waiters is welcome at any of the three locations. Plates are sold for $7 each and free delivery is available for 10 or more plates with a drive thru service provided at each location. Barbecue by the pound and desserts will be back again as well.
