It's that time of year again. There's a chill in the air in the morning and it's nice to grab a jacket on those chilly days. Some people in Clarendon, Georgetown, Florence and Williamsburg counties aren't that fortunate.
Santee Electric Cooperative's WIRE (Women Involved in Rural Electrification) group wants to do something about that. During the month of September, WIRE (a volunteer group) is collecting new and gently used coats for battered women and a local boy's home.
Area drycleaners have agreed to help with cleaning the garments. All you have to do is clean out your closets or purchase an extra coat while shopping and drop any coats off at one of Santee Electric Cooperative's five offices! Offices are located in Kingstree, Manning, Lake City, Hemingway and Georgetown and are open weekdays from 8 a.m. till 5 p.m.
Individually, everyone can be a positive influence in someone's life, but together, we can do amazing things for people in need.
