Leadership Williamsburg recently toured Santee Electric's main headquarters in Kingstree. Students learned the difference in electric cooperatives and investor owned utilities, about energy efficiency and what goes into making a cooperative work. They were highly impressed with the dispatch center that covers four counties and monitors all of Santee Electric substations. Pictured here are Destiny Garrison, Pria Anderson and Emily Washington from CE Murray trying on rubber gloves linemen use for safety. The group of 15 students is made up of eleventh graders from around the country.
