Santee Electric Trust (Operation Round‐Up) was awarded a housing assistance grant in the amount of $66,750.00 from the SC State Housing Finance and Development Authority to assist consumers of SEC of life, health and safety issues.
The assistance consist of:
- Providing accessibility for disabled persons (Handicap equip bathrooms, wheelchair ramps, etc.),
- Repairing/replacing major housing systems (Plumbing, Heat/Air, Electrical, etc.) and/or
- Addressing structural problems (Roofing, Insulation, Doors, Windows, etc.) in owneroccupied homes of eligible households within their service area.
Operation Round‐Up has consistently been working on ways to assist consumers of Santee Electric Cooperative in their time of need. They have implemented a program called 'project Cool Down' This program is in effect from May thru August. Air Conditioners and box fans are distributed to the elderly and disabled to provide emergency cooling assistance from midsummer' heat. More information will be provided about this program in later editions.
