South Carolina sent a total of 48 men from seven cooperatives to repair damage caused by an ice storm in Virginia. Twelve men went from Santee Electric. Newberry, Lynches River and Palmetto also... sent crews to assist BARC Electric Cooperative north of Roanoke. Crews from Aiken, Berkeley and Blue Ridge joined Southside Electric Cooperative southwest of Richmond.

Some of these crews then continued on to help Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, which serves members in 22 counties across northern Virginia. All S.C. crews had returned home by Wednesday evening.
